Why is this $109–$149 when a new mattress costs $1,000+?

Because you're not replacing the mattress, you're fixing the surface you sleep on.
Most of what makes a bed feel old is the top layer: heat, firmness, a sag you feel
at the hip. A quilted topper changes that layer for a fraction of the price, and
you keep the mattress you already paid for.

We'll tell you exactly. The cover is a blend of viscose made from bamboo and
polyester. The viscose is what gives it the smooth, cool-to-the-touch feel; the
polyester keeps the quilting stable after washing. The fill is soft polyester
fiber. No gel, no memory foam, nothing that holds heat against you.

It makes a firm or lumpy mattress feel softer and more even, and it adds a
breathable layer on top. It will not fix a mattress that is physically broken or
deeply sagging. If you can feel springs or a crater, it's time for a new
mattress, not a topper.

The cover breathes and wicks moisture instead of trapping it, so the surface
doesn't build up heat the way foam or gel does. Warm sleepers notice the
difference most. It won't make the room colder, and it isn't a cooling device.
